We might find that the new gadgets and Screen Resolution item added to context menu in Windows 7 But if you do not want them there, I'll show you how to remove them based on the Windows 7 desktop context menu.
Here is a screenshot to show a bunch of new stuff (gadgets and Screen Resolution) at the bottom:
Remove Gadgets and Items Screen Resolution
Normally, removing items from the menu should be a simple registry hack, no complicated instructions. problem, in this case, is that the new Windows 7 things actually are protected by special permit them bothered to remove it, but we also have the means to achieve it.
You'll want to open up regedit.exe through the start menu search or run box, and then browse to the following registry key:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT \ DesktopBackground \ Shell
When you're there, you might notice that although you can see three new items, you can not remove or rename them.
What you need to do is give yourself permission to the keys, starting DesktopBackground right clicking on the button and select "Allow ".
Now you want to pretty much ignore all here, and click on "Advanced" button.
head on "Owner" tab, click Administrators in the list and then check the box for "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects ".
to make absolutely sure that you check that box before you click Apply!
Now head back to the "Permissions " tab, select Administrators in the list (it should say full control already), and check the box for "Replace all child object permissions permits with hereditary than this building ".
to make absolutely sure that you select the checkbox before clicking Apply!
You will be prompted by Windows asks whether you really want to continue. We do.
And now, you should be able to rename or delete any of the buttons. I would advise making a backup right-click on DesktopBackground and choosing to export the file reghack.
For example, to remove the gadgets and the Screen Resolution from the menu, I have to delete both of these keys (after a backup, of course ).
Now we have a nice, clean desktop menu.
